Nabu Markets mission statement is to democratize fresh nutritious food for local communities across the world. We have a very long road a head of us to fulfill that vision. Since we're an early-stage startup company we have strategically decided launch in South Florida as our first market and grow from there.
The climate in South Florida allows for traditional outdoor farming 6-9 months out of the year depending on the weather that year. But luckily we do have indoor vertical farms that leverage controlled environment agriculture technology to produce food all year round! The global vertical farm industry is growing 25% year-over-year, and is still in its infancy but may one day be the main source of food production for large cities like Miami, Florida.
South Florida's geographical location makes it an extremely suitable place to grow all kinds of diverse tropical fruits and vegetables that can't be grow anywhere else in the contiguous United States. Because of the unique availability of agriculture in South Florida our current selection of local farms are located in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach County.
